Digital vs Physical
Beyond the Box is a physical product that users can interact with. This interaction is aimed at enhancing and promoting increased social interaction and education. We believe that valuable life skills can develop through social interaction.
Beyond the Screen adds a digital dimension to our product, making it more adaptable in the future. The application is child-orientated and acts as a means for them and their parents to stay connected and grow together.
The combination of these two mediums will improve the positive impact on young children’s educational and social development. The application and product work together with such that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts
Research.
We took out various research methods including workshops and observations. The main one being at a school that has a focus on using technology as a core part of their education.
We carried out this research to test our assumptions and get a greater insight into our research question. It helps us record how the children interacted with technology and their peers
In conclusion, we found technology is used today as a way to enhance education and learning in the classroom. Blended learning was used by the teacher to combine traditional teaching methods with contemporary technology based methods
